Triangle Dance is a new performance designed for 3 dancers, performed in 3 parts, taking place within and around the confines of a triangle, and accompanied by a live drumming by Max Jaffe. The geometric constraint of the multifaceted triangle and rhythmic variations of three become the central force of choreographic inquiry. The work will premiere in Los Angeles in January 2027. The work is fundamentally a perilous trio devoted to dance, exploring the labor and dynamics of individual difference through uniformity and cooperation in individual differentiation. The work explores the eroticism inherent in the labor of dance, compulsory femininity and collective resilience through complex ternary repetitions which create a platform for failure as practice.

The piece portrays a laborious state of profound reverence and irreverence to both dancing and the dance—a fervent, devout commitment to experience of moving and being moved. Ultimately, the work’s rumination on triangles and threes produces an ostentatious dance navigating times of peril without panic.
